Ants

Battling ants is an ongoing, never ending challenge to the RVer.

There’s a product called Terro that’s commercially available. Ants eat the mixture and take it back to their nest. At the nest they feed the mixture to the other ants. It then affects them and wipes out the whole nest.

You can make your own mixture:

• 1 teaspoon of boric acid powder (any pharmacy)

• ¼ cup of sugar (or use confectioner's sugar, brown sugar, honey, molasses or other ant food)

• 2 cups of hot water (plus or minus)

I make small trays using aluminum foil to hold the mixture.

If the ants aren’t gone in a day or two, add more boric acid. If they’re dying at the source, add less powder. Works great!
