DirecTV Offering Second Receiver on RV
RVers who have (or want) a satellite dish on their rig, take note.
DirecTV, one of the primary satellite TV providers and the choice of many
RVers, is offering RV owners the ability to add additional receivers to
their boat or rig and qualify for a $4.99 mirroring fee without the
land-based phone line, as long as certain conditions are met.
RVers who have (or would like) multiple receivers should contact DirecTV and request a Mobile Vehicle Declaration of Intent for Multiple Receivers. The form, which asks for your access-card number, receiver serial number and signature, stipulates: .that you intend to use more than one DirecTV system receiver in a mobile unit and that your vehicle is for personal, not professional, use;
.that you understand that DirecTV generally requires that all receivers be continuously connected to the same land-based phone line in order to qualify for the Additional Receiver Authorization Fee that is included in the DirecTV customer agreement;
.and that because you now have more than one DirecTV system receiver in a mobile unit, you will be charged $4.99 per month per receiver for each additional receiver instead of the full subscription price for each additional receiver even though these receivers are not connected to the same land-based phone line.
For more information on the Mobile Vehicle Declaration of Intent for Multiple Receivers, contact DirecTV at (800) 347-3288. The form is not accessible through DirecTV's website.
